A Presidenta Dilma Rousseff realizará visita oficial à Turquia entre os dias 6 e 8 de outubro. Na ocasião, manterá encontros de trabalho com o Presidente Abdullah Gül e com o Primeiro-Ministro Recep Tayyip Erdoğan e participará de Seminário Empresarial Brasil–Turquia.

Em maio de 2010, Brasil e Turquia adotaram Plano de Ação para Parceria Estratégica, que envolve iniciativas nas áreas de energia, defesa, cooperação agrícola, ciência e tecnologia e promoção cultural, entre outras.

O diálogo político entre os dois países tem-se intensificado nos últimos anos, como refletido em numerosos encontros de autoridades de alto nível. Brasil e Turquia convergem quanto à defesa do multilateralismo, à busca de soluções diplomáticas para tensões internacionais, à melhor representatividade nas instituições de governança global e ao respeito à diversidade, conforme consagrado na iniciativa da Aliança das Civilizações.

O intercâmbio comercial Brasil e Turquia triplicou desde 2005, atingindo US$ 1,7 bilhão no final de 2010. Em agosto de 2011, a corrente de comércio já ultrapassou o montante de US$ 1,6 bilhão. Encontra-se em negociação a criação de uma área de livre-comércio entre o Mercosul e a Turquia, cujo Acordo-Quadro foi firmado em 2008.

President Dilma Roussef to Visit Turkey – Ankara and Istanbul – 6 to 8 October 2011

President Dilma Rousseff will visit Turkey between 6 and 8 October. On the occasion, she will hold working meetings with President Abdullah Gül and Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and will attend the Brazil-Turkey Business Seminar.

On May 2010, Brazil and Turkey adopted the Strategic Partnership Action Plan, which involves initiatives on energy, defense, agricultural cooperation, science and technology and cultural promotion, among others.

Political dialogue between both countries has increased in the past few years, as witnessed by the many meetings between high level officials.  Brazil and Turkey converge with regard to the defense of multilateralism, the search for diplomatic solutions for international disputes, better representation within global governance institutions and respect for diversity, as enshrined in the Alliance of Civilizations initiative.

Trade exchange between Brazil and Turkey has tripled since 2005, reaching US$ 1.7 billion by the end of 2010.  In August 2011, trade flow had already exceeded US$ 1.6 billion. There are ongoing negotiations for a free trade area between Mercosur and Turkey, under the Framework Agreement signed in 2008.
