O Ministro Celso Amorim visitará Kinshasa, capital da República Democrática do Congo (RDC), em 11 de novembro. Na ocasião, manterá encontro de trabalho com seu homólogo congolês, Alexis Thambwe Mwamba, com quem passará em revista temas do relacionamento bilateral e do quadro regional.

O Ministro Amorim também se avistará com representantes das Nações Unidas em Kinshasa. O Brasil tem buscado, no âmbito da ONU, contribuir para o fortalecimento da estabilidade política da RDC.

O Governo brasileiro prestou, no final de outubro, assistência humanitária de US$ 1 milhão à RDC, por meio de doação ao Escritório do Alto Comissariado das Nações Unidas para Direitos Humanos, em apoio a atividades voltadas ao reforço de mecanismos de reparação e de acesso à justiça para vítimas de violência sexual no país africano.

O comércio bilateral entre o Brasil e a RDC aumentou mais de vinte vezes entre 2002 e 2009, passando de US$ 2,84 milhões para US$ 58,56 milhões.

Minister Celso Amorim to visit the Democratic Republic of the Congo – Kinshasa, 11 November 2010
 
Minister Celso Amorim will visit Kinshasa, the capital of the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC), on 11 November 2010.  He will hold a working meeting with his Congolese counterpart, with whom he will review bilateral and regional affairs.
 
Minister Amorim will also call on United Nations representatives in Kinshasa.  Brazil has sought to contribute, within the UN system, toward the strengthening of DRC’s political stability.
 
Brazil offered the DRC, in late October, US$ 1 million in humanitarian assistance with a donation to the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights, to support actions to strengthen mechanisms for reparations and access to justice for victims of sexual violence in that African country.
 
Bilateral trade between Brazil and the DRC was multiplied twentyfold between 2002 and 2009, going from US$ 2.84 million to US$ 58.56 million.
