Entre os dias 20 e 29 de setembro o Ministro Celso Amorim realizará visita de trabalho a Nova York, quando chefiará a delegação brasileira à 65ª Assembleia Geral das Nações Unidas.

No dia 23, o Ministro Celso Amorim fará o discurso de abertura no debate geral da 65ª AGNU.  Nesse dia também participará como orador na Cúpula de Chefes de Estado e de Governo do Conselho de Segurança da ONU.  No dia 20, tomará parte de Reunião Extraordinária da Comissão de Reconstrução do Haiti. No dia 24, participará das Reuniões de Alto Nível sobre Desarmamento, sobre a Aliança de Civilizações, e sobre  a situação no Sudão. O Ministro Amorim também representará o Brasil em reunião do Conselho de Segurança sobre Contra-Terrorismo, no dia 27.

Além dos eventos mencionados, estão programadas reuniões ministeriais dos BRICs, do IBAS, do G4 e da ASPA, bem como encontros bilaterais com Chanceleres de diversos países.

A Assembleia Geral, principal foro de deliberação global, deverá privilegiar, em sua 65ª sessão, questões relacionadas ao desenvolvimento global, à mudança do clima e ao desarmamento.

Between 20 and 29 September, 2010, Minister Celso Amorim will make a working visit to New York, where he will head the Brazilian delegation to the 65th Session of the United Nations General Assembly.  

On 23 September, Minister Celso Amorim will make the opening speech for the general debate of the 65th UNGA. On the same day, he will also speak at the Summit of Heads of State and Government of the UN Security Council.  On 20 September, he will take part in an Extraordinary Meeting of the Haiti Reconstruction Commission.  On 24 September, he will participate in the High Level Meetings on Disarmament, on the Alliance of Civilizations and on the situation in Sudan.  Minister Amorim will also represent Brazil in the Security Council Meeting on Counter Terrorism, on 27 September.

In addition to the events above, he is also expected to attend BRIC, IBSA, G4 and ASPA ministerial meetings, as well as bilateral meetings with Foreign Ministers from several countries.

The main topics of the 65th Session of the General Assembly, the main global deliberation forum, will deal with matters related to global development, climate change and disarmament.
