O Ministro Antonio de Aguiar Patriota realizará visita à Índia nos dias 5 e 8 de março.

Durante a visita, o Ministro Patriota manterá encontro com o Ministro dos Negócios Estrangeiros da Índia, S. M. Krishna, ocasião em que passará em revista os temas da agenda bilateral e examinará formas de fortalecer o diálogo e a cooperação em áreas como energia, agricultura, ciência e tecnologia, educação, cultura e defesa, entre outras.

O Ministro Patriota co-presidirá, ainda, com o Assessor de Segurança Nacional da Índia, Shivshankar Menon, a III Reunião do Mecanismo de Diálogo Estratégico Brasil-Índia. Ambos os eventos terão lugar em paralelo à VII Reunião da Comissão Mista Ministerial do Fórum de Diálogo Índia-Brasil-África do Sul (IBAS).

O Brasil é o maior parceiro comercial da Índia na América Latina. A Índia é o 4º maior parceiro comercial do Brasil na Ásia, depois de China, Japão, e Coréia do Sul. O intercâmbio comercial entre o Brasil e a Índia mais do que triplicou nos últimos cinco anos, passando de US$ 2,3 bilhões (2005) a US$ 7,7 bilhões (2010).

Minister Antonio de Aguiar Patriota to visit India – New Delhi, 5 and 8 March 2011

Minister Antonio de Aguiar Patriota will make a visit to India on 5 and 8 March 2011.

During the visit, Minister Patriota will meet with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of India, S. M. Krishna. They will go over issues in the bilateral agenda and examine ways of strengthening dialogue and cooperation in areas such as energy, agriculture, science and technology, education, culture and defense, among others.

With the National Security Advisor of India, Shivshankar Menon, Minister Patriota will also preside over the 3rd Meeting of the Brazil-India Strategic Dialogue. Both events will be held in parallel with the 7th Meeting of the Ministerial Joint Commission of the India-Brazil-South Africa (IBSA) Dialogue.

Brazil is India’s greatest trade partner in Latin America. India is Brazil’s 4th greatest trade partner in Asia, after China, Japan and South Korea. Trade exchange between Brazil and India more than tripled in the last five years, increasing from US$ 2.3 billion (2005) to US$ 7.7 billion (2010).
