A Presidenta da República, Dilma Rousseff, realizará visita oficial à República da Bulgária nos dias 5 e 6 de outubro, quando manterá encontro com o Presidente Georgi Parvanov e com o Primeiro-Ministro Boyko Borissov.

A Presidenta deverá tratar da cooperação bilateral nas áreas de educação, tecnologia de informação, energia e transportes. A visita servirá, ainda, para estimular a cooperação esportiva, com vistas aos Jogos Olímpicos de 2016, bem como identificar possibilidades de investimentos brasileiros na Bulgária.

Acompanharão a delegação brasileira empresários dos setores de energia, aviação, infraestrutura e agronegócio, que participarão de conferência sobre a experiência brasileira em setores estratégicos para o desenvolvimento sustentável. Além disso, serão examinados meios de incrementar o intercambio comercial. O fluxo comercial com a Bulgária foi de US$ 147 milhões em 2010. Neste ano, até o mês de agosto, foram registradas trocas de US$ 113 milhões.

O Brasil e a Bulgária estabeleceram relações diplomáticas em 1961, e nesse mesmo ano estabeleceu-se a primeira Legação do Brasil em Sófia – elevada a Embaixada em 1974. Recentemente, a interação entre os dois países tem-se intensificado por meio de troca de visitas de alto nível. A viagem da Presidenta Dilma Rousseff será a primeira de Chefe de Estado brasileiro ao país.

President Dilma Rousseff to visit the Republic of Bulgaria - Sofia, 5 and 6 October 2011

President Dilma Rousseff will make an official visit to the Republic of Bulgaria on 5 and 6 October, when she will hold meetings with President Georgi Parvanov and Prime Minister Boyko Borissov.

The President will address bilateral cooperation on education, information technology, energy and transportation. The visit also aims at fostering cooperation on sports, with a view to the 2016 Olympic Games, as well as identifying the potential for Brazilian investments in Bulgaria.

Accompanying the Brazilian delegation are business representatives from the energy, aviation, infrastructure and agribusiness sectors, who will take part in a conference on the Brazilian experience in strategic areas for sustainable development.  Furthermore, they will address ways to improve bilateral exchange.  Trade flow with Bulgaria was US$ 147 million in 2010. This year, by August, exchanges were at US$ 113 million. 

Brazil and Bulgaria established diplomatic relations in 1961, at in that same year the first Brazilian legation was established in Sofia – it was upgraded to Embassy status in 1974.  The relations between the two countries have increased recently due to an exchange of high level visits.  President Dilma Rousseff’s trip will be the first by a Brazilian Head of State to the country.
