O Secretário de Estado (Vice-Chanceler) do Ministério dos Negócios Estrangeiros e Cooperação Internacional do Reino do Camboja, Embaixador Long Visalo, realiza visita de trabalho a Brasília, de 29 de abril a 3 de maio.

O Vice-Chanceler cambojano manterá encontros no Ministério das Relações Exteriores, no Ministério do Desenvolvimento Social e Combate à Fome, no Ministério de Minas e Energia, na Companhia Nacional de Abastecimento, e na EMBRAPA. Será também portador de mensagem do Primeiro-Ministro Hun Sen à Senhora Presidenta da República, a respeito das relações bilaterais.

Durante a visita, deverão ser assinados os primeiros instrumentos entre os dois países: Acordo de Cooperação Educacional e Acordo sobre Isenção de Vistos em Passaportes Diplomáticos, Oficiais e de Serviço.

As relações diplomáticas com o Reino do Camboja foram restabelecidas em 1994, após 28 anos de interrupção. Além da oportunidade que oferece à intensificação das relações bilaterais, a visita propiciará um intercâmbio de informações sobre o processo de aproximação entre o Brasil a Associação de Nações do Sudeste Asiático (ASEAN), que terá o Camboja como presidente de turno, em 2012.

The Secretary of State (Deputy Foreign Minister) of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the Kingdom of Cambodia, Ambassador Long Visalo, is making a working visit to Brasília from 29 April to 3 May 2011.

The Cambodian Deputy Foreign Minister will hold meetings at the Ministry of External Relations, the Ministry of Social Development and Fight against Hunger, the Ministry of Mines and Energy, CONAB (National Company for Food Supply), and EMBRAPA (Brazilian Agricultural Research Corporation). He will also convey a message from Prime Minister Hun Sen to President Dilma Rousseff about bilateral relations.

During the visit, the first agreements between both countries are to be signed: an Agreement on Educational Cooperation and an Agreement on the Exemption of Visa Requirements for Holders of Diplomatic, Official and Service Passports

Diplomatic relations with the Kingdom of Cambodia were reestablished in 1994, after 28 years of interruption. In addition to offering an opportunity to foster the bilateral relationship, the visit will make possible to exchange information on strengthening ties between Brazil and the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), whose rotating presidency will be held by Cambodia in 2012.
