O Presidente dos Estados Unidos da América, Barack Obama, realizará Visita de Estado ao Brasil nos dias 19 e 20 de março, acompanhado de sua esposa, Michelle Obama, e de suas duas filhas. A delegação presidencial será ainda integrada, entre outras autoridades, pelo Conselheiro de Segurança Nacional, Thomas Donilon; pelo Secretário do Tesouro, Timothy Geithner; pela Secretária de Meio Ambiente, Lisa Jackson; pelo Secretário de Comércio, Gary Locke; pelo Representante de Comércio Exterior, Ron Kirk; pelo chefe de Gabinete da Casa Branca, William Dalley; pelo Vice-Diretor do Conselho de Segurança Econômica, Michael Froman; e pelo Presidente do Eximbank, Fred Hochberg. 

Em Brasíia, o mandatário estadunidense manterá reuniões de trabalho com a Presidenta Dilma Rousseff, quando deverão ser tratadas questões de interesse mútuo nas agendas bilateral, regional e global, com destaque para a cooperação em matéria de comércio e investimentos recíprocos, energia, meio ambiente, ciência, tecnologia e inovação e educação, entre outros. 

A visita se inscreve no contexto da primeira viagem do Presidente Barack Obama à América do Sul, em roteiro que inclui ainda passagens pelo Chile e, posteriormente, El Salvador. 

Os Estados Unidos são o maior investidor estrangeiro no Brasil, o segundo maior importador de produtos brasileiros e o segundo maior parceiro comercial do País, com fluxo de mais de US$ 46 bilhões em 2010. Entre 2009 e 2010, as exportações brasileiras para aquele mercado registraram aumento de 26,21%, passando de US$ 15,6 bilhões para US$ 19,3 bilhões. O mercado brasileiro, por sua vez, vem aumentando sua importância para os EUA, havendo-se tornado o 8º destino das exportações estadunidenses.

The President of the United States of America, Barack Obama, will make a State Visit to Brazil on 19 and 20 March, accompanied by his wife, Michelle Obama, and his two daughters.  The presidential delegation will also comprise, among other authorities, the National Security Adviser, Thomas Donilon; the Secretary of the Treasury, Timothy Geithner; the Administrator of the Environmental Protection Agency, Lisa Jackson; the Secretary of Commerce, Gary Locke; the Trade Representative, Ron Kirk; the White House Chief of Staff, William Dalley; the Deputy National Security Advisor for International Economic Affairs, Michael Froman; and the President of the Eximbank, Fred Hochberg.
 
In Brasília, the US President will hold working meetings with President Dilma Roussef, when they will address affairs of mutual interest in the bilateral, regional and global agendas, with particular attention to cooperation on reciprocal trade and investment, energy, environment, science, technology and innovation, education, among others.
 
The visit is part of President Barack Obama’s first travel to South America, on a tour that also includes stops in Chile, first, and in El Salvador, afterwards. 
 
The United States are the largest foreign investor in Brazil, the second largest importer of Brazilian products and Brazil’s second largest trading partner, with a flow that exceeded US$ 46 billion in 2010.  Between 2009 and 2010, Brazilian exports to the American market rose by 26.21%, from US$ 15.6 billion to US$ 19.3 billion.  The Brazilian market, in turn, has grown in importance to the USA, having become the 8th top destination for US exports.
