A convite do Ministro Celso Amorim, o Ministro dos Negócios Estrangeiros e da Cooperação Internacional da Tanzânia, Bernard Kamillius Membe, acompanhado de delegação interministerial, realizará visita ao Brasil entre os dias 14 e 19 de setembro, com compromissos em Brasília, Foz do Iguaçu, Rio de Janeiro e São Paulo.

No dia 15, o Ministro Membe será recebido pelo Ministro Celso Amorim para encontro de trabalho. Na ocasião, serão passados em revista os principais temas da agenda bilateral e internacional e, em particular, os resultados da recente visita do Presidente Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva a Dar-Es-Salam, em 7 de julho. Em seguida, o Ministro tanzaniano será homenageado com almoço no Palácio Itamaraty.

Entre os avanços observados nas diferentes iniciativas bilaterais, destacam-se a cooperação para a produção de biocombustíveis e os importantes investimentos brasileiros, por meio da Petrobras, no campo de energia não-renovável. Além disso, encontra-se sob exame o desenvolvimento de cooperação em favor dos setores agropecuário e de infraestrutura da Tanzânia. 

Desde 2003 os fluxos de comércio bilateral multiplicaram-se por dez e, a despeito da crise financeira de 2008-2009, têm apresentado tendência de crescimento. Até julho deste ano, o intercâmbio comercial montava a US$ 32,7 milhões, valor que já supera o total de 2009.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of Tanzania, Bernard Kamillius Membe, to visit Brazil – Brasília, Foz do Iguaçu, Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo – 14-19 September, 2010

At the invitation of Minister Celso Amorim, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of Tanzania, Bernard Kamillius Membe, will make a visit to Brazil between 14 and 19 September, 2010, accompanied by an interministerial delegation. He will have engagements in Brasília, Foz do Iguaçu, Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo.

On 15 September, Minister Membe will be received by Minister Celso Amorim for a working meeting.  They will go over the main affairs in the bilateral and international agendas, and they will address, in particular, the results of the recent trip President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva made to Dar-Es-Salam, on 7 July. The Tanzanian Minister will then be honored with a luncheon at Palácio Itamaraty.

Among the strides made within the different bilateral initiatives, cooperation on biofuel production and significant Brazilian investment, through Petrobras, in the field of non-renewable energy stand out. Furthermore, cooperation on agriculture and cattle raising and infrastructure sectors in Tanzania is under analysis.

Since 2003, the bilateral trade flows have increased tenfold and despite the 2008-2009 financial crisis, show an upward trend. Until July of this year, trade exchange amounted to US$ 32.7 million, a figure that surpasses the 2009 total.
