A convite do Ministro Celso Amorim, o Ministro dos Negócios Estrangeiros da Austrália, Kevin Rudd, visitará o Brasil, no período de 15 a 17 de dezembro. No dia 15, o Ministro Rudd manterá, em Foz do Iguaçu, reunião de trabalho com o Ministro Amorim, para tratar de temas bilaterais, regionais e multilaterais.

Será o primeiro encontro de Ministros no contexto do Diálogo Brasil-Austrália, criado pelo Memorando de Entendimento para o Estabelecimento de uma Parceria Reforçada, firmado em setembro de 2010. O Diálogo permitirá aos dois Ministros examinar iniciativas concretas de cooperação, inclusive trilateral, em favor de países em desenvolvimento, e explorar meios de expandir os fluxos de comércio e de investimento.

No dia 16, o Ministro Kevin Rudd participará, como convidado especial, da Reunião do Conselho do Mercado Comum ampliado e, no dia 17, assistirá à XL Reunião de Cúpula do Mercosul.

At the invitation of Minister Celso Amorim, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Australia, Kevin Rudd, will visit Brazil from 15 to 17 December 2010. On 15 December, in Foz do Iguaçu, Minister Rudd will hold a working meeting with Minister Celso Amorim to discuss bilateral, regional and multilateral issues.

It will be the first ministerial meeting within the Brazil-Australia Dialogue, created by the Memorandum of Understanding for the Establishment of an Enhanced Partnership, signed in September 2010. The Dialogue will allow the Ministers to examine concrete cooperation initiatives, including trilateral cooperation in favor of developing countries, and to explore ways of expanding trade and investment flows.

On 16 December, Minister Kevin Rudd will participate in the Plenary Meeting of the Common Market Council, as a special guest, and on 17 December he will attend the 40th Mercosur Summit Meeting.
