Realiza-se hoje, 12 de agosto, em Brasília, a VIII Reunião de Consultas Políticas Brasil – Cuba. O mecanismo de consultas políticas bilaterais reuniu-se pela primeira vez no ano de 2001, e realizou sua mais recente reunião em Havana, em outubro de 2008.

A delegação brasileira é chefiada pelo Secretário-Geral das Relações Exteriores, Embaixador Antonio de Aguiar Patriota, e a delegação cubana é chefiada pelo Vice-Ministro de Relações Exteriores de Cuba, Sr. Rogelio Sierra Díaz.

A VIII Reunião de Consultas Políticas constitui oportunidade para atualização do diálogo entre os Governos brasileiro e cubano sobre o relacionamento bilateral nos âmbitos político, econômico e de cooperação. Também possibilita o intercâmbio de opiniões sobre os principais temas que compõem as agendas regional e internacional.

Por ocasião da VIII Reunião de Consultas Políticas, serão firmados cinco Ajustes Complementares ao Acordo Básico de Cooperação Científica, Técnica e Tecnológica entre os Governos de Brasil e Cuba, para a implementação de projetos de cooperação nas áreas de agricultura, metrologia e geologia.

8th Brazil-Cuba Political Consultation Meetings

Today, 12 August 2010, the 8th Brazil-Cuba Political Consultation Meetings are being held.  The bilateral political consultation mechanism first convened in 2001 and held its most recent meeting in Havana, on October 2008.

The Brazilian delegation is headed by the Secretary-General of External Relations, Ambassador Antonio de Aguiar Patriota, and the Cuban delegation is being headed by the Vice-Minister of External Relations of Cuba, Mr. Rogelio Sierra Díaz.

The 8th Political Consultation Meeting is an opportunity to bring dialogue between the Brazilian and Cuban government up to date on political, economic and cooperation affairs.  It also fosters the exchange of opinions on the main issues in the regional and international agendas.

On the occasion of the 8th Meeting of Political Consultations, five Complementary Agreements to the Basic Agreement on Scientific, Technical and Technological Cooperation between the Governments of Brazil and Cuba will be signed, to execute cooperation projects in areas such as agriculture, metrology and geology.
