O Governo brasileiro tomou conhecimento, com preocupação, dos incidentes ocorridos na ilha de Yeonpyeong, entre a República da Coréia e a República Popular Democrática da Coréia, dos quais resultaram vítimas fatais sul-coreanas.

Ao solidarizar-se com as famílias das vítimas, o Governo brasileiro conclama ambas as Partes a absterem-se de medidas que possam agravar ainda mais a tensão na Península Coreana e a buscarem uma solução negociada, com participação das Nações Unidas.

The Brazilian Government has learned with concern of the incidents that took place in the island of Yeonpyeong, between the Republic of Korea and the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, which resulted in fatal South Korean casualties.
 
In extending our solidarity to the families of the victims, the Brazilian Government calls on both Parties to refrain from actions that could further escalate tensions in the Korean Peninsula and to seek a negotiated solution with the participation of the United Nations.
