O Governo brasileiro receberá do Governo da Federação da Rússia cópias de documentos relacionados a Luiz Carlos Prestes que se encontram sob custódia do Arquivo do Estado Russo de História Política e Social. A cerimônia pública será realizada no Palácio Itamaraty, às 14h30 de amanhã, 8 de outubro. A entrega da documentação atende a pedido formulado pelo Presidente Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, em nome da família Prestes, ao Presidente Dmitri Medvedev, durante visita de Estado a Moscou, em maio deste ano.

Datados das décadas de 1930 e 1940, os documentos incluem três manuscritos de Prestes, que viveu exilado na União Soviética entre 1931 e 1934. O material será depositado no Arquivo Nacional e estará disponível para consulta pública.

The Brazilian Government will receive from the Government of the Russian Federation copies of documents related to Luiz Carlos Prestes which have been in the custody of the Russian State Archives of Socio-Political History. The public ceremony will be held at Palácio Itamaraty, on 8 October, 2010, at 14h30. The handover of the documents responds to a request by President Luis Inácio Lula da Silva, on behalf of the Prestes Family, to President Dmitri Medvedev, during his State visit to Moscow, in May 2010.
 
The documents, from the 1930s and 1940s, comprise three manuscripts by Prestes, who lived in exile in the Soviet Union between 1931 and 1934. The material will be deposited in the Brazilian National Archives and will be available for public consultation.
