O Ministro Antonio de Aguiar Patriota participará, no dia 22 de julho, em Luanda, da XVI Reunião Ordinária do Conselho de Ministros da Comunidade de Países de Língua Portuguesa (CPLP). Dentre suas competências, o Conselho, em reuniões anuais, coordena as atividades da CPLP, aprova seu orçamento e formula recomendações à Cúpula de Chefes de Estado e Governo da organização. A próxima Cúpula marcará a transmissão da presidência da CLPL de Angola para Moçambique.

Em 2011, a CPLP completou 15 anos de existência. Ao longo desse período, aumentou consideravelmente o nível de articulação política entre os países do bloco, gerando diálogo aprofundado tanto entre os setores governamentais quanto entre as sociedades civis. Atualmente, Ministérios dos oitos países realizam reuniões setoriais regulares, o que se traduz em ações concretas de cooperação em áreas como saúde pública, agricultura e formação profissional.

Durante a XVI Reunião do Conselho, os Ministros de Estado das Relações Exteriores debaterão a intensificação das relações econômicas entre os Estados membros da comunidade e o papel da CPLP nas Nações Unidas.

Os Chanceleres deverão também aprovar Projetos de Resolução, entre outros temas, sobre o roteiro CPLP-CEDEAO (Comunidade Econômica dos Estados da África Ocidental), no âmbito do Programa de reforma do Setor de Segurança e Defesa da Guiné Bissau; a Estratégia Regional de Segurança Alimentar e Nutricional da CPLP; e a realização, no Brasil, do Fórum da Sociedade Civil da CPLP.

Minister Antonio de Aguiar Patriota to take part in the 16th Meeting of the Council of Ministers of the Community of Portuguese Language Countries - Luanda, 22 June 2011
 
On 22 July, in Luanda, Minister Antonio de Aguiar Patriota will take part in the 16th Ordinary Meeting of the Council of Ministers of the Community of Portuguese Language Countries (CPLP). In its mandate, the Council coordinates CPLP activities, approves the budget and issues recommendations to the Organization’s Summit of Heads of State and Government through annual meetings. The next Summit will mark the passing of the CPLP Presidency from Angola to Mozambique.
 
In 2011, CPLP celebrates 15 years of existence. Throughout this period, it considerably enhanced the level of political coordination among the countries in the bloc, generating in-depth dialogue both between government sectors and the civil societies. Presently, Ministries from the eight countries carry out regular sector meetings, which translate into concrete cooperation actions in areas such as public health, agriculture and professional training.
 
During the 16th Meeting of the Council, the Ministers of External Relations will discuss the enhancement of economic relations between the Member States of the community and the role of the CPLP at the United Nations. 
 
The Foreign Ministers are also expected to approve Resolution drafts on, among other issues, the roadmap for CPLP-ECOWAS (Economic Community Of West African States), within the Program for the Reform of Guinea-Bissau’s Security and Defense Sector; the CPLP Regional Strategy for Food and Nutritional Security; and the CPLP Forum for Civil Society, to be held in Brazil.
