A Presidenta Dilma Rousseff participará, no próximo dia 15 de abril, da abertura da X Conferência Anual do Fórum de Boao para a Ásia, cujo tema este ano será “Desenvolvimento Inclusivo: agenda comum e novos desafios”.

O Fórum de Boao foi criado em 1998, como organização não-governamental, pelos ex-Primeiros-Ministros da Austrália e Japão, Robert Hawke e Morihiro Hosokawa; e pelo ex-Presidente das Filipinas, Fidel Ramos. Busca estabelecer-se como o “Davos asiático” e é, atualmente, o mais prestigiado fórum de líderes de governos, empresas e academia daquele continente. Formalmente inaugurado em 2001, o Fórum mantém, desde 2002, encontros anuais em Boao, na província de Hainan, no sul da China.

A participação da Presidenta Dilma Rousseff na edição 2011 do Fórum de Boao possibilitará contatos de alto nível com importantes líderes da Ásia e outras regiões. Participarão da cerimônia de abertura do Fórum de Boao, além do Presidente da República Popular da China, Hu Jintao, os Presidentes de África do Sul e Rússia; os Primeiros-Ministros de Coreia do Sul, Espanha e Ucrânia; e o Vice-PM da Nova Zelândia. A conferência deste ano enseja oportunidade para que se compartilhe a experiência brasileira na promoção do crescimento econômico com inclusão social.

On 15 April 2011, President Dilma Rousseff will attend the opening of the 10th Annual Conference of the Boao Forum for Asia. The theme of the Conference will be “Inclusive Development: Common Agenda & New Challenges”.

The Boao Forum was created in 1998, as a non-governmental organization, by the former Prime Ministers of Australia and Japan, Robert Hawke and Morihiro Hosokawa, and by the former President of the Philippines, Fidel Ramos. It seeks to establish itself as the “Asian Davos” and it is currently the most prestigious forum of Government, business and academic leaders in Asia. The Boao Forum was formally instituted in 2001 and it holds annual meetings in Boao, in the Hainan Province, in southern China.

President Dilma Rousseff’s participation in the 2011 edition of the Boao Forum will allow high level contacts with important leaders from Asia and from other regions. The opening ceremony of the Boao Forum will be attended by the President of the People’s Republic of China, Hu Jintao; by the Presidents of South Africa and Russia; by the Prime Ministers of South Korea, Spain and Ukraine; and by the Deputy Prime Minister of New Zealand. The 2011 Conference will be an opportunity to share the Brazilian experience in promoting economic growth with social inclusion.
