O Ministro das Relações Exteriores, Antonio de Aguiar Patriota, e o Ministro-Chefe da Controladoria Geral da União (CGU), Jorge Hage, participarão, no dia 12 de julho, em Washington, de reunião internacional da Parceria sobre Transparência Governamental (“Open Government Partnership”).

A Parceria sobre Transparência Governamental foi lançada pelo Presidente Barack Obama na 65ª Assembléia Geral das Nações Unidas, em 2010. O Comunicado Conjunto dos Presidentes Dilma Rousseff e Barack Obama (Nota à Imprensa nº 119, de 19/3/2011) refere-se à iniciativa que tem como propósito promover a transparência governamental, por meio do intercâmbio de experiências e oferecimento de cooperação. A participação no exercício é voluntária e não-vinculante.

Desde janeiro, os Estados Unidos e o Brasil co-presidem Grupo de Trabalho integrado por México, Indonésia, Índia, Reino Unido, Indonésia, Filipinas e África do Sul, e nove organizações da sociedade civil.

Por ocasião da 66ª Assembléia Geral das Nações Unidas, em setembro, deverá ser adotada Declaração de Princípios relativa à Parceria sobre Transparência Governamental, que será aberta à adesão de novos membros.

The Minister of External Relations, Antonio de Aguiar Patriota, and the Minister of the Office of the Comptroller General, Jorge Hage Sobrinho, will take part in an international meeting of the Open Government Partnership, in Washington, on 12 July 2011.
 
The Open Government Partnership was launched by President Barack Obama at the 65th United Nations General Assembly, in 2010. The joint statement issued by Presidents Dilma Rousseff and Barack Obama (Press release 119, from 19/March/2011) addressed the initiative, which aims at advancing open government through the exchange of experiences and offers for cooperation. Participation in this experience is voluntary and non-binding.
 
Since January, United States and Brazil have co-chaired a Working Group composed by Mexico, Indonesia, India, United Kingdom, Philippines and South Africa, in addition to nine civil society organizations.
 
The 66th United Nations General Assembly, to be held in September, is expected to adopt the Declaration of Principles on the Open Government Partnership, which will be open to accession by new members.
