Realizou-se em Brasília, entre os dias 18 e 19 de agosto, a III Sessão da Comissão Mista Brasil-República Democrática do Congo. A Comista revestiu-se de caráter histórico, uma vez que a última edição do evento havia corrido em 1988. A III Sessão da Comista Brasil-RDC logrou relançar a cooperação entre os dois países, por meio de iniciativas em diversas áreas.

As delegações brasileira e congolesa foram chefiadas, respectivamente, pelo Ministro de Estado, interino, das Relações Exteriores, Embaixador Ruy Nunes Pinto Nogueira, e pelo Ministro da Cooperação Internacional e Regional, Senhor Raymond Tshibanda N’Tungamulongo.

Além de temas que já integram a agenda Brasil-RDC, como educação, comércio e investimentos e cooperação humanitária, as delegações brasileira e congolesa valeram-se da ocasião para compartilhar informações e discutir novas iniciativas em áreas como saúde, agricultura familiar, agroecologia, formação profissional, rádio e televisão e normalização.

Ao final do evento, foram assinados Ajustes Complementares ao Acordo de Cooperação Científica, Tecnológica e Técnica nas áreas de agroecologia, agricultura familiar, formação de recursos humanos do setor público de comunicação e normalização. Foi assinado, também, Memorando de Entendimento sobre Cooperação entre o Instituto Rio Branco e a Academia Diplomática do Ministério das Relações Exteriores da República Democrática do Congo.

The 3rd Session of the Brazil – Democratic Republic of the Congo Joint Commission was held on 18 and 19 August 2011 in Brasília. This meeting of the Joint Commission was historically signigicant, since the last session was held in 1988. The 3rd Session of the Brazil – DRC Joint Commission succeeded in relaunching cooperation between both countries through initiatives in several areas.

The Brazilian and the Congolese delegations were respectively headed by the acting Minister of External Relations, Ambassador Ruy Nunes Pinto Nogueira, and by the Minister of International and Regional Cooperation, Mr. Raymond Tshibanda N’Tungamulongo.

Besides addressing issues on the Brazil-DRC agenda, such as education, trade and investments and humanitarian cooperation, the Brazilian and the Congolese delegations seized the opportunity to share information and discuss new initiatives in areas such as health, family agriculture, agroecology, professional training, radio and television and normalization.

At the end of the event, Complementary Agreements to the Technical, Technological and Scientific Cooperation Agreement were signed in the areas of agroecology, family agriculture, training of human resources in the public sector of communications and normalization. A Memorandum of Understand between Instituto Rio Branco and the Diplomatic Academy of the Ministry of External Relations of the Democratic Republic of the Congo was also signed.
