O Governo brasileiro felicita o povo tunisiano pelo êxito na organização e divulgação do resultado das eleições, oficialmente divulgados ontem, para a formação de uma Assembleia Nacional Constituinte, ocorridas no último dia 23 de outubro.

As eleições tunisianas têm significado especial no contexto da “Primavera Árabe”. Ao definirem o novo sistema de governo e o marco jurídico fundamental do país, os trabalhos da Assembleia Constituinte deverão constituir importante etapa no processo de transição democrática em curso na Tunísia.

The Brazilian Government congratulates the Tunisian people on the successful organization and proclamation of the results, officially released yesterday, of the elections which took place on 23 October, with a view to convening a National Constitutional Assembly.

The Tunisian elections have a special significance within the “Arab Spring”.  In defining the new government system and the country’s fundamental legal framework, the works of the Constitutional Assembly will represent an important step in the ongoing democratic transition process in Tunisia.
