O Governo brasileiro expressa satisfação pela realização, em 27 de junho, de forma ordeira e transparente, do primeiro turno das eleições presidenciais na República da Guiné, cujos resultados oficiais, anunciados em 2 de julho, indicam a necessidade de realização de segundo turno.

Ao cumprimentar o povo guineense pela maneira pacífica como o pleito foi realizado, o Governo brasileiro manifesta a expectativa de que, com as eleições, a normalidade democrática e constitucional do país seja restabelecida no mais breve prazo.

The Brazilian Government welcomes the orderly and transparent first round of the elections held on June 27, 2010, in the Republic of Guinea, whose officials results, announced on July 2, 2010, indicate the need for a run-off ballot.

In congratulating the Guinean people on the peaceful manner in which the contest was held, the Brazilian Government expects that, with the elections, the democratic and constitutional normalization of the country will be restored swiftly.
