O Governo brasileiro recebeu com satisfação a notícia da realização, em 31 de outubro, do primeiro turno das eleições presidenciais na República de Côte d’Ivoire, cujos resultados oficiais, certificados em 12 de novembro pelo Representante da ONU no país, Young Jin Choi, indicam a necessidade de realização de segundo turno.

O Governo brasileiro cumprimenta o Governo e o Povo marfinenses pela maneira pacífica e ordeira como o pleito foi realizado. Com as eleições, o Brasil confia em que a normalidade democrática e constitucional será retomada no mais breve prazo.

The Brazilian Government welcomes the news of the first round of the presidential election in the Republic of Côte d’Ivoire, held on 31 October 2010, whose official results, certified on 12 November by the UN Representative in the country, Young Jin Choi, indicate the need for a runoff ballot.

The Brazilian Government congratulates the Ivorian Government and People on the peaceful and orderly manner the election was carried out.  With the elections, Brazil trusts that democratic and constitutional normality will be resumed shortly.
