O Ministério das Relações Exteriores informa que estarão abertas, até o dia 25 de março de 2011, as inscrições para o “I Concurso Itamaraty de Arte Contemporânea”. 

O Concurso Itamaraty de Arte Contemporânea, de periodicidade bianual, concederá prêmios nas áreas de pintura, escultura, fotografia e obras em papel. As obras selecionadas passarão a fazer parte do acervo do Ministério das Relações Exteriores, podendo ser expostas no Palácio Itamaraty e por toda a rede de Embaixadas e Consulados do Brasil no exterior. 

O Concurso visa a incentivar a produção brasileira de arte contemporânea e a ampliar sua divulgação no exterior. 

Poderão ser inscritas no Concurso quaisquer obras de artistas brasileiros. É vedada, no entanto, a participação no Concurso de membros da Comissão de Seleção e da Comissão Julgadora, bem como de servidores, cônjuges e parentes de primeiro grau de servidores do Ministério das Relações Exteriores.  

Cada artista poderá inscrever apenas uma obra no certame. Para inscrevê-la, o interessado deverá enviar ao endereço eletrônico artecontemporanea@itamaraty.gov.br: 

I.      ficha de inscrição assinada e digitalizada;

II.     curriculum vitae com texto descritivo e dez imagens (em baixa resolução) de    obras de sua autoria, produzidas nos últimos dois anos;

III.   imagem da obra inscrita, com resolução mínima de 300 dpi, em formato TIFF ou JPEG; e

IV.   declaração de autoria e propriedade da obra inscrita. 

Os valores dos prêmios oferecidos para as áreas de pintura e escultura são: 

a) Primeiro lugar: R$ 20.000,00 (vinte mil reais);

b) Segundo lugar: R$ 15.000,00 (quinze mil reais);

c) Terceiro lugar: R$ 10.000,00 (dez mil reais);

d) Quarto lugar: R$ 5.000,00 (cinco mil reais). 

Os valores dos prêmios oferecidos para as áreas de fotografia e obras em papel são: 

a) Primeiro lugar: R$ 10.000,00 (dez mil reais);

b) Segundo lugar: R$ 7.500,00 (sete mil e quinhentos reais);

c) Terceiro lugar: R$ 5.000,00 (cinco mil reais);

d) Quarto lugar: R$ 2.500,00 (dois mil e quinhentos reais).

The Ministry of External Relations announces that applications for the “1st Itamaraty Contemporary Art Competition” will be open until 25 March 2011.

The Itamaraty Contemporary Art Competition, to be held biannually, will award prizes for painting, sculpture, photography and works on paper. The selected works will become part of the Ministry of External Relations’ collection and may be exhibited at Palácio Itamaraty and at all the Brazilian Embassies and Consulates abroad.

The competition aims at encouraging the Brazilian production of contemporary art and increasing its promotion and visibility abroad.

The competition is open for any works by Brazilian artists. However, members of the Selection and Judging Committees, as well as employees of the Ministry of External Relations and their spouses and first-degree relatives, cannot enter into the contest.

Each artist can register only one work in the contest. For registration, the candidate must send to artecontemporanea@itamaraty.gov.br the following documents:

I. digital copy of the filled out, signed registration form;

II. résumé containing a descriptive text and ten low-resolution images of works of his/her authorship produced in the last two years;

III. image of the work to be registered, with a minimum resolution of 300 dpi, in TIFF or JPEG format; and

IV. authorship and property declaration regarding the work to be registered.

The prizes for painting and sculpture are:

a) First place: R$ 20,000.00 (twenty thousand reais);

b) Second place: R$ 15,000.00 (fifteen thousand reais);

c) Third place: R$ 10,000.00 (ten thousand reais);

d) Fourth place: R$ 5,000.00 (five thousand reais).

The prizes for photography and works on paper are:

a) First place: R$ 10,000.00 (ten thousand reais);

b) Second place: R$ 7,500.00 (seven thousand five hundred reais);

c) Third place: R$ 5,000.00 (five thousand reais);

d) Fourth place: R$ 2,500.00 (two thousand reais).
