Memorando de Entendimento entre o Governo da República Federativa do Brasil e o Governo da República da Zâmbia sobre Estabelecimento de um Mecanismo de Consultas Políticas

O Governo da República Federativa do Brasil

O Governo da República da Zâmbia (doravante denominados “Partes”),

Desejosos de aprimorar o entendimento mútuo e a cooperação entre os dois países, bem como incrementar o desenvolvimento e o fortalecimento de relações de amizade entre seus povos;

Conscientes de que consultas e trocas de opiniões, em diferentes níveis, sobre as relações bilaterais e temas internacionais de interesse comum são benéficas para as Partes; e

Desejosos de promover a cooperação para o benefício mútuo,

Chegaram ao seguinte entendimento:

Artigo 1

O objetivo deste Memorando de Entendimento é criar mecanismo de consultas políticas.

Artigo 2

As Partes consultar-se-ão regularmente a fim de acompanhar todos os aspectos de suas relações bilaterais e trocar opiniões sobre assuntos globais, interações no campo internacional e questões de interesse mútuo.

Artigo 3

As consultas serão realizadas em nível de Ministros das Relações Exteriores ou outras autoridades, conforme acordado entre Partes.

Artigo 4

A data, local e agenda das consultas serão determinadas pelas Partes, por via diplomática.

Artigo 5

Qualquer controvérsia relativa à interpretação ou implementação deste Memorando de Entendimento será resolvida amigavelmente entre as duas Partes, por via diplomática.

Artigo 6

O presente Memorando de Entendimento poderá ser emendado a qualquer momento, por consentimento mútuo das Partes, por via diplomática.

Artigo 7

O presente Memorando de Entendimento entrará em vigor na data de sua assinatura e terá vigência indeterminada.

Artigo 8

Qualquer das Partes poderá, a qualquer momento, notificar a outra, por via diplomática, de sua decisão de denunciar o presente Memorando de Entendimento. A denúncia surtirá efeito seis (6) meses após a data da notificação e não afetará as atividades em andamento, salvo se acordado em contrário pelas Partes.

Feito em Brasília, em 18 de novembro de 2010, em dois exemplares originais, nos idiomas português e inglês, sendo ambos os textos igualmente autênticos.

Memorandum of Understanding Between the Government of the Federative Republic of Brazil and the Government of the Republic of Zambia Concerning the Establishment of a Mechanism of Political Consultation

The Government of the Federative Republic of Brazil

and
The Government of the Republic of Zambia (hereinafter referred to as the “Parties”),

Desirous to increase the mutual understanding and co-operation between the two countries, as well as increasing the development and strengthening of friendly relations between their people;

Conscious that consultations as well as the exchange of opinion at different levels on bilateral relations and international issues of common interest are useful; and

Desirous to promote co-operation for mutual benefit,

Have reached the following understanding:

Article 1

The objective of this Memorandum of Understanding is to create a mechanism for political consultation.

Article 2

The Parties shall carry out regular consultations to follow up all aspects concerning their bilateral relations and to exchange opinions on global issues, interaction in the international field and issues of mutual interest.

Article 3

Consultations shall be carried out at the level of Ministers of Foreign Affairs or high-ranking officials as agreed by the Parties.

Article 4

The dates, venue and agenda of consultations shall be determined by the Parties through diplomatic channels.

Article 5

Any dispute related to the interpretation or implementation of this Memorandum of Understanding shall be settled amicably by the Parties, through diplomatic channels.

Article 6

This Memorandum of Understanding may be amended at any time by mutual consent of the Parties, through diplomatic channels.

Article 7

This Memorandum of Understanding shall come into force on the date of its signature and shall remain valid indefinitely.

Article 8

Either Party may, at any time, notify the other, through diplomatic channels, of its intention to terminate the present Memorandum of Understanding. Termination shall be effective six (6) months after the date of the notification and shall not affect the ongoing activities under this Memorandum of Understanding, unless otherwise agreed upon by the Parties.

Done at Brasilia, on this 18th day of November 2010, in duplicate, in the Portuguese and English languages, both texts being equally authentic.
