O Governo brasileiro recebeu com indignação a notícia da repressão a manifestantes em Hama, Síria, nos últimos dois dias, responsável pela morte de mais de uma centena de pessoas.

Ao lamentar profundamente as mortes ocorridas, o Governo brasileiro reitera o repúdio ao uso da força contra manifestantes civis.

O Governo brasileiro manifesta preocupação com o não cumprimento pela Síria de compromissos assumidos publicamente no tocante ao direito de manifestação e expressão e insta o Governo sírio a dar seguimento ao processo de diálogo nacional e reforma política com sentido de urgência.

The Brazilian Government has learned with indignation of the repression to demonstrators in Hama, Syria, in the past two days, which has caused the death of over one hundred people.

In expressing its regret over the deaths, the Brazilian Government reiterates its repudiation of the use of force against civilian demonstrators.

The Brazilian Government is concerned that Syria has not fulfilled commitments made publicly with regard to the right to demonstrate and the right of expression, and calls on the Syrian Government to move forward with the national dialogue and political reform process with utmost urgency.
