O Secretário-Geral das Relações Exteriores, Embaixador Antonio de Aguiar Patriota, chefia a delegação do Brasil à 40ª Sessão da Assembleia-Geral da Organização dos Estados Americanos (Lima, Peru, 6 a 8 de junho).

O tema escolhido para o encontro é “Paz, Segurança e Cooperação”. A Declaração de Lima, a ser aprovada na ocasião, contempla elementos de construção de confiança em matéria de segurança e defesa na região, bem como de fortalecimento de mecanismos e ações de cooperação com vistas ao combate à pobreza e à exclusão social.

The Secretary-General of External Relations, Ambassador Antonio de Aguiar Patriota, is heading the Brazilian delegation to the 40th Regular Session of the General Assembly of the Organization of American States (Lima, Peru, June 6 to 8, 2010).

The theme of the meeting is “Peace, Security and Cooperation in the Americas”. The Lima Declaration, to be approved in the 40th Session, includes elements of confidence-building with regard to security and defense in the region, as well as the strengthening of cooperation mechanisms and actions for fighting poverty and social exclusion.
