Republic of Zimbabwe

Brazil established diplomatic relations with Zimbabwe in April, 1980, on the same date of the country’s independence, and installed a resident Embassy in Harare in 1987. Zimbabwe opened its resident Embassy in Brasília in 2004 – the first diplomatic representation of that country in South America.

1996 – Visit of Vice-President Marco Maciel to Harare (Sixth G-15 Summit)

1999 – Visit of President Robert Mugabe to Brazil

2004 – Opening of the Embassy of Zimbabwe in Brasília

2009 – First Meeting of the  Brazil-Zimbabwe Joint-Commission

2011 – Visit of Vice-President Joice Mujuru (inauguration of President Dilma Rousseff)

2011 – Opening of Zimbabwe’s Trade and Tourism Office in São Paulo

2012 – Visit to Brazil of President Robert Mugabe (Rio+20 Earth Summit) and 2nd Meeting of the Brazil-Zimbabwe Joint-Commission

2013 – Visit of Vice-President Joice Mujuru to Brazil
