Republic of Mauritius
Brazil and Mauritius established diplomatic relations in 1974. The Embassy of Brazil in Pretoria (South Africa) has been responsible for representing the Brazilian Government before Mauritian authorities since 1996.
The two countries maintain a cooperation project concerning the promotion and strengthening of the Portuguese language. Mauritius is an observer member at the Community of Portuguese Language Countries (CPLP). There is potential for bilateral cooperation in areas such as social policy.
