Republic of Madagascar
Diplomatic relations between Brazil and Madagascar were established in 1996. Since then, the Embassy of Brazil in Mozambique is concurrently accredited to the Malagasy government.
In the bilateral agenda, cooperation activities stand out, mainly in the context of partnership to third countries performed by the Brazilian Cooperation Agency (ABC) and by its Japanese counterpart (JICA). Technical cooperation to Madagascar remains suspended since the beginning of the 2009 political crisis.
