Federation of Saint Kitts and Nevis

Brazil's relations with St. Kitts and Nevis are marked on the one hand, by cooperation for development, and, on the other, by the partnership within CELAC. During the First Summit Brazil-Caribbean Community (CARICOM), in 2010, Brazil and Saint Kitts and Nevis signed Agreements on Cultural and Educational Cooperation. Moreover, a Basic Agreement on Technical Cooperation is under negotiation between the two governments, through which other actions of cooperation with this Caribbean country may be implemented, especially in the areas of vocational training, health, sports, vegetable production and fruit growing, and ethanol production. Since 2012, the Brazilian Cooperation Agency (ABC) also promotes, in coordination with the National Water Agency and with EMBRAPA, training courses in water resources management and agriculture to countries of the Caribbean Community (CARICOM), among which Saint Kitts and Nevis.

In the economic and trade field, Saint Kitts and Nevis joined, in 2014, a preferential trade agreement in force between Brazil and Guyana, which could bring positive socio-economic impact for this country of reduced economy and population.
