Federal Democratic Republic of Nepal

 

 

Brazil and Nepal established diplomatic relations in 1976. There are resident Embassies in Kathmandu and in Brasilia. Potential for bilateral cooperation in areas like agriculture, education, tourism, energy and health has been identified. In 2009, Nepalese Minister of Foreign Affairs, Upendra Yadav, visited Brazil and was received by Foreign Minister Celso Amorim.

1976 – Establishment of diplomatic relations

2009 – Visit to Brazil of Minister of Foreign Affairs of Nepal, Upendra Yadav. Signature of Framework Agreement for Technical Cooperation

2011 - The Deputy Prime Minister and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Nepal, Upendra Yadav, visit Brazil – Brasília, Foz do Iguaçu and Rio de Janeiro, 1 to 6 August

2011Signature of the Memorandum of Understanding on Bilateral Consultations (August 3)

2013 – Brazilian Congress approves the creation of Brazil-Nepal Parliamentary Group
