The internship program of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is aimed
at secondary or undergraduate regular students enrolled at Brazilian educational institutions. It is regulated by Law No. 11.788 and Ordinances No. 313 and 467, of the Ministry of Planning, Budget, and Management.
How to participate?
Those interested must send curriculum vitae to firstname.lastname@example.org. All CVs received are filed for six months and, during that period, are forwarded to analysis to the Ministry units with open selection process, according to the compatibility between the desired profile for the job and that entered by the student.
How many working hours?
Shifts are of four or six hours per day (20 or 30 hours per week), according to the unit´s availability. The values of internship grants were established by Normative Guidance No. 7/2008 of the Ministry of Planning, Budget, and Management.
What is the internship schedule?
The standard office hours at Itamaraty are from 9 AM to 7 PM, but some units have different working hours. The schedule of the intern will be distributed in the office hours of the corresponding unit and will always be compatible with school hours.
What is the duration of the internship?
The minimum term of the contract is six months and the maximum period of internship in the organization is limited to four semesters.
Can post-graduates intern at Itamaraty?
No, they cannot. The program is specifically for secondary or undergraduate students.
Can students from foreign universities intern at Itamaraty?
No, they cannot. The program is specifically for students enrolled at Brazilian educational institutions.
Can foreign students intern at Itamaraty?
Yes, they can, provided they are properly enrolled at any Brazilian educational institution.
How does the selective process work?
Applicants are directly called for an interview by the interested area. After the student is selected, the Company-School Integration Center (CIEE) will contact the student to provide the Internship Commitment Term.
I have been an intern at Itamaraty. Can I apply again?
Yes, you can, provided you have not reached the maximum limit of two years in the program.
