The Minister of External Relations of Chile, Alfredo Moreno, will visit Rio de Janeiro, when he will have a working meeting with Minister Antonio de Aguiar Patriota and attend the seminar “Brazil-Chile: new horizons – boundless friendship”.
The Seminar, to be held on October 8, will be opened by Ministers Patriota and Moreno and feature debates among Government officials, scholars and businesspeople from both countries. The goal is to assess the bilateral relationship and identify new opportunities for the long-standing partnership between Brazil and Chile. The presentations and debates at the Seminar will be recorded in a publication edited by the Alexandre de Gusmão Foundation.
For the past two years, Chile has been Brazil's second main trading partner in Latin America. In 2011, trade flow reached US$ 10 billion. Brazil has attracted the second largest Chilean investment stock in the world, which amounts to US$ 12 billion. There are approximately seventy Brazilian companies in Chile, with an estimated investment of US$ 3.2 billion.
