Minister Antonio de Aguiar Patriota is visiting Viet Nam. He will hold a meeting with Foreign Minister Pham Binh Minh and will also be hosted by Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung.
The Foreign Ministers will address bilateral affairs, such as economic and trade relations, energy, agriculture and education, as well as regional and multilateral affairs.
Minister Patriota’s visit will contribute to strengthen the existing ties between Brazil and Viet Nam and takes place immediately after the successful First Viet Nam-Latin American Forum on Trade and Investment (Hanoi, 5 and 6 July), attended by several Brazilian companies.
Trade relations between Brazil and Viet Nam expanded significantly in the last years. Between 2003 and 2011, trade between both countries increased more than 30-fold, from US$ 47.1 million to US$ 1.44 billion. From January to May 2012, bilateral trade reached US$ 694 million, an increase by more than 35% in relation to the same period in 2011.
