The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the United Arab Emirates, Sheikh Abdallah Bin Zayed al Nahyan, will visit Brazil on March 16. This is his third visit as the Foreign Minister of the United Arab Emirates since taking office in 2006.
While in Brasilia, he will be hosted by the Minister of External Relations, Antonio de Aguiar Patriota, and by the Ministers of Development, Industry and Foreign Trade, Fernando Pimentel, and of Mines and Energy, Edison Lobão. During the meeting at Itamaraty, a Memorandum of Understanding will be signed with a view to creating a periodical consultation mechanism on bilateral, regional and international affairs of mutual interest.
Between 2005 and 2011, Brazil’s trade exchange with the United Arab Emirates rose from US$ 805 million to US$ 2.64 billion. The Emirates are Brazil’s second main partner in the Middle East with regard to the trade flow.
