Following up on the telephone conversation between President Dilma Rousseff and President Felipe Calderón, a consultation meeting between Brazil and Mexico was held in Brasília, from February 7 to 9, on the Complementary Economic Agreement no. 55 (ACE–55).
The meeting presented an opportunity to clarify relevant issues with regard to the evolution and perspectives of the bilateral trade relationship in the automotive sector.
Both countries are committed to seeking a satisfactory solution that meets the interests of both parties.
A continuous dialogue at the technical level is expected to take place, as well as a new meeting to be held on February 28 and 29, in Mexico City, with a view to moving negotiations further.
