The Vice President of the Republic, Michel Temer, will visit the United Arab Emirates on November 10-12, including the cities of Abu Dhabi and Dubai. It will be the highest-level Brazilian official visit to that country since the trip of former President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva in December 2003.

The Vice President will hold meetings with his counterpart, the Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE, and Ruler of Dubai, Sheikh Mohamed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, and other Emirati authorities.

During the meetings, the Vice President will address possibilities for increasing the exchange of goods, services and investments with the United Arab Emirates, the Arab country that has hosted the largest number of visits of high-level Brazilian authorities in the past few years. Since 2007, the United Arab Emirates was visited by 25 Brazilian ministers of state and 14 Brazilian state governors.

Bilateral trade with the United Arab Emirates increased almost fivefold during the past ten years, from US$ 500 million in 2003 to US$ 2.46 billion in 2012.
