The Brazilian government reiterates its strongest condemnation of the terrorist  attack carried out on Jan. 17 against the General Santander Police Academy in Bogota, Colombia, which killed many people.

As it condemns the acts of the self-styled National Liberation Army (ELN), which has claimed responsibility for the attack, the Brazilian government lends its full support for the Government of Colombia and calls on the ELN to immediately lay down its weapons and release all those still held hostage. 

The Brazilian government also supports the Government of Colombia in its determination to bring to justice those responsible for this terrorist act. 

Brazil reiterates its solidarity and heartfelt sympathy with the families of the victims and expresses its wishes of a full and quick recovery to those wounded.
