The informal meeting of the BRICS leaders on the sidelines of the G20 Summit will take place in Osaka, Japan, on June 28. The meeting will be conducted by president Jair Bolsonaro as Brazil holds the grouping 2019 presidency.
The president of Russia, Vladimir Putin, India’s prime-minister Narendra Modi, China’s president Xi Jinping and South Africa’s president Cyril Ramaphosa are confirmed to attend the meeting.
On the occasion, the BRICS leaders will discuss themes concerning the G20 agenda, including recent developments in the economy and in the international financial system, energy transition and digital economy.
The leaders will release a press statement at the end of the meeting.
The 11th BRICS Summit will take place in Brasília, on November 13-14, 2019.
