The Brazilian government is pleased to announce that the Mexican market will open for Brazilian milled rice exports.

The measure was taken following the approval of phytosanitary requirements for both Brazilian rice and Mexican beans, negotiated in coordination between the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Food Supply and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Brazil and the Secretariat of Agriculture and Rural Development of Mexico.

The decision reinforces Brazil's position as one of the world's top 10 rice exporters and represents an important step to diversify trade relations with Mexico, a country with over 120 million people that imports nearly 80 percent  of the rice it consumes.
