I have learned, with great satisfaction, a feeling also expressed by my colleagues in Brazil and abroad, of the appointment by President-elect Jair Bolsonaro of the name of the future Brazilian foreign minister. Ambassador Ernesto Henrique Fraga Araújo has been an exemplary career diplomat. He has headed the Department of United States, Canada and Inter-American Affairs at the foreign ministry over the last two years with great competence, dedication and public spirit. These are qualities that have always earned him the respect of colleagues and have also marked the positions he has held in Brussels, Berlin, Ottawa and Washington, as well as those in Brasília in the areas of regional integration, financial affairs and trade negotiations. Ernesto Araújo is highly qualified to serve Brazil in the duties entrusted to him now.
