The Brazilian government has learned with sadness of the passage of the Mangkhut typhoon through the northern Philippines last weekend, which resulted in dozens of fatalities and caused hundreds of injuries as well as material losses.
In expressing its condolences to the relatives and friends of the victims, the Brazilian government expresses its solidarity with the people and government of the Philippines.
To date, there are no records of Brazilian nationals among the victims of the climatic phenomenon. Itamaraty will continue to monitor closely the situation through the Brazilian Embassy in Manila and the Consular Assistance Division (DAC) in Brasilia.
