The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Brazil, Aloysio Nunes Ferreira, will make an official visit to La Paz on August 20.
On the occasion, Minister Aloysio Nunes will hold a working meeting with his Bolivian counterpart, Fernando Huanacuni. Bilateral topics to be addressed during the meeting include rail and energy integration, electricity interconnection; use of shared water resources, border cooperation and fight against transnational crime. Both ministers will also address regional and multilateral issues of mutual interest.
Bolivia is the main gas supplier to Brazil, and the Brazilian market is the main destination for Bolivian exports. In 2017, bilateral trade reached 2.79 billion dollars, and Brazilian exports totaled 1.5 billion dollars. In the first half of 2018, bilateral trade grew by 11.75% over the same period of the previous year.
