The Prime Minister of the Republic of Haiti will make an official visit to Brazil on May 20-25, 2013. In Brasilia, he will be hosted by Minister Antonio de Aguiar Patriota on May 21.
Brazil exercises military command of the UN Stabilization Mission in Haiti (MINUSTAH) and maintains its commitment to full compliance with the MINUSTAH mandate given by the UN Security Council. After the humanitarian tragedy of the January 2010 earthquake, Brazil joined the Interim Haiti Recovery Commission and was the first country to make financial contribution to the Haiti Reconstruction Fund.
Brazil and Haiti are working together on a broad technical cooperation program, including the areas of health, food security, social inclusion and biofuels. Brazilian companies invest in sectors such as energy and infrastructure in Haiti.
