At the invitation of president Michel Temer, the President-elect of the Republic of Paraguay, Mario Abdo Benítez, will visit Brasília on June 11 and will be welcomed for a meeting at the Planalto Palace.
The meeting between the President of Brazil and the President-elect of Paraguay will be an opportunity to address themes of the broad bilateral integration agenda as well as regional and international issues of common interest.
Brazil will be the first international destination of the President-elect of Paraguay, in recognition of the importance and the auspicious moment of the relations between the two countries. The visit of President-elect Mario Abdo Benítez reinforces the priority given to the relations between Brazil and Paraguay for the establishment of an area of integration, safety and development in the region and the achievement of national development objectives of the two countries.
Brazil is the main trading partner of Paraguay. In 2017, bilateral trade reached 1.3 billion dollars, an increase of 12% over 2016.
