The Brazilian Government is pleased to inform that the Government of the Swiss Confederation has granted its agrément to the appointment of Evandro de Sampaio Didonet as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Brazil to that country. Ambassador Didonet has also been granted agrément by the Principality of Liechtenstein, to which he will be posted concurrently as non-resident ambassador. According to the Brazilian constitution, the appointment must still be confirmed by the Federal Senate.
Evandro de Sampaio Didonet joined the Brazilian Foreign Service in 1979. He has served at the embassies in Vienna, Beijing, Bonn, Rome, Ottawa and Wasington. He has held the positions of ambassador of Brazil to Austria and permanent representative of Brazil to International Organizations in Vienna and to the WTO and International Economic Organizations in Geneva. In Brazil, he has been advisor to the Division of Europe II, to the Department of Latin American Integration and to the Secretariat General of Foreign Affairs. He was also the director of the Department of Extra-regional Trade Negotiations (former Department of International Negotiations).
