The Brazilian government strongly condemns the armed attacks against civilians, UN forces and Central African security forces on May 1st in PK5 and Fatima neighborhoods in the Central African Republic's capital Bangui, which resulted in many deaths and injuries. Among the wounded, there are two Brazilian military in the service of the United Nations Multidimensional Integrated Stabilization Mission in the Central African Republic (MINUSCA).

The Brazilian government expresses its condolences and solidarity to the families of the victims, the people and the government of the Central African Republic, and its wishes of a full recovery to those wounded.

The Brazilian government continues to follow with concern the situation in the Central African Republic, especially the recent deterioration of security conditions in Bangui, and reiterates its support for the peace, stabilization and national reconciliation efforts of MINUSCA and the African Peace Initiative and Reconciliation in the Central African Republic.
