The Brazilian Government has learned with consternation of the earthquake that struck the Southern Peru on January 14, killing at least two people and injuring many others.
The Brazilian Government offers its condolences to the families of the deceased and expresses its sympathies to the affected populations and to the government of Peru.
There is no record of Brazilian nationals among the victims until now. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs will continue to monitor the situation through the Embassy of Brazil in Lima and the Consular Assistance Division (DAC) in Brasilia.
