The Brazilian Government reiterates its understanding that the final status of the city of Jerusalem should be defined in negotiations that ensure the establishment of two states living in peace and security within internationally recognized borders and with free access to the holy sites of the three monotheistic religions, in the terms of the United Nations Security Council Resolutions, such as Resolution 478 of 1980, among others. The Brazilian Government further recalls that the borders between the two states should be defined in direct negotiations between the parties, based on the June 1967 line.
