The Brazilian Government has learned, with deep consternation, of the earthquake that hit the border region between Iran and Iraq, on November 12, causing hundreds of deaths and a large number of wounded.
In conveying its condolences to the families of the deceased, the Brazilian Government expresses its solidarity to the population affected and the Governments of these countries.
To the moment, there is no record of Brazilians among the victims. Itamaraty will continue to follow the developments of the case through the Embassies of Brazil in Tehran and in Bagdad, in coordination with the Consular Assistance Division (DAC) in Brasilia.
