The Minister of Foreign Relations of El Salvador, Hugo Martínez, will visit Brazil on October 25, when he will hold a working meeting with Minister Aloysio Nunes Ferreira. At the meeting, the two foreign ministers will address themes of the bilateral agenda and review regional and multilateral issues of mutual interest.

During the visit, legal instruments will be established for the creation of a bilateral mechanism for political consultations, collaboration between the Brazilian and Salvadoran diplomatic academies and cooperation in defense affairs between the two countries.

El Salvador is Brazil’s main partner in technical cooperation among the Central American countries. It is also an important interlocutor of Brazil in the Central American Integration System (SICA), headquartered in the Salvadoran capital, San Salvador

The visit of Minister Hugo Martínez will also represent an opportunity for the establishment common initiatives to stimulate bilateral trade and investment and to promote cooperation within the scope of the Japanese-Brazilian digital television standard (ISDB-T), adopted by the Salvadoran Government at the beginning of 2017. El Salvador is the fifth country in Central America to adopt the ISDB-T standard.
