It is with sorrow that the Brazilian government received the news that tropical storm Nate has hit Central America, leaving dozens dead and causing destruction in Costa Rica, Honduras and Nicaragua.
Brazil expresses its condolences to the families of the victims and its wishes of a prompt recovery of the wounded. Brazil conveys its solidarity to the peoples and governments of those countries.
To the moment, there is no record of Brazilian nationals among the victims. Itamaraty will continue to monitor the situation through the embassies in Costa Rica, Honduras and Nicaragua, in coordination with the Assistance Center for Brazilian Nationals in Brasilia.
