The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Cuba, Bruno Eduardo Rodríguez Parrilla, will visit Brasília on May 6, 2013, when he will be hosted by Minister of Foreign Affairs Antonio de Aguiar Patriota.
The two foreign ministers will address the main themes of the bilateral and regional agenda, in particular the support for development and cooperation. Brazil-Cuba bilateral agenda has intensified with high-level visits as well as diversification and deepening of its economic and social aspects. The two countries cooperate in sectors incuding biofuels, civil construction, transportation, food security and health, with initiaives that also involve other countries, such as Haiti. Cuba holds the Pro Tempore Presidency of CELAC.
Trade between Brazil and Cuba increased more than sevefold between 2003 and 2012. From 2010 to 2012, Brazilian exports to Cuba grew by 36.9 %. Last year, bilateral trade reached the high record of US$ 661.6 million.
